A lively and bustling town, Sorrento presents itself with breathtaking scenery, delicious cuisine and moments of pure relax. It could be your perfect starting point for discovering the beauty of the Amalfi Coast (for information on how to get there and get around, you can also read the article A Weekend on the Amalfi Coast). Now let’s find out together what to do and see in Sorrento in a day.

What to see in Sorrento

  1. Piazza Tasso : is crossed by the most important street of the town, “Corso Italia”, where you will find a lively movement of people, clubs and typical shops. From here you can enjoy some wonderful views of the coast.

The square is surrounded by three noteworthy buildings: the Correale house with its tiled courtyard; the church of Santa Maria del Carmine, with its beautiful Baroque façade; and the elegant Grand Hotel Vittoria , which in 1921 hosted Enrico Caruso himself.

2. Stop to savor some typical dishes of the rich culinary tradition of Sorrento and Campania: why not? Make a stop at Cheri Sorrento Syrrentum to taste a sweet Babà or pistachio shortbread!

3 Sorrento’s Town Villa: Here you will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, almost suspended in time, and have a privileged view of Naples and Vesuvius.

Costiera Amalfitana

4 Continue along the coastline: whether you are traveling by car, motorcycle or moving by bus, I remind you that what makes the Amalfi Coast a destination for thousands of tourists from all over the world…is the Coast itself! Enjoy the walk towards Positano…and stop to admire a wonderful sunset like this one.
